 Let \: the \:speed \:of \:a \:boat \: in \: still \\water  = x \: m/s

 and \: the \: speed \: of \:the \:stream= y \: m/s

 Given \: Speed \: in \: downstream = 25 \:m/s

 \implies  x + y = 25 \: m/s \: ---(1)

  Speed \: in \: Upstream = 15 \:m/s

 \implies  x - y = 15 \: m/s \: ---(2)

/* Subtract equation (2) from equation (1), we get */

 x + y - ( x - y ) = 25 - 15

 \implies x + y - x + y = 10

 \implies 2y = 10

 \implies y = \frac{10}{2}

 \implies y = 5 \: m/s

Therefore.,

 \red{ The \: speed \: of \: the \: stream } \green { =  5 \: m/s}

 Option \: \green { ( C ) } \: is \: correct
