the bob of simple pendulum of length 1m has mass 100g and speed 1.4 m/s at lowest point . find tension in string at this moment

At lowest point, two forces are acting on the bob

a) Tension in string upwards

b) mg downwards.

As it is moving along circular path hence

T−mg=mv2rT−mg=mv2r

=> T=mg+mv2rT=mg+mv2r

Given mm = 100g = 0.1 Kg, vv= 1.4 m/s, rr= ll= 1 m, g=10m/s2g=10m/s2

Hence T = 1.196 N
