Given that, the boy is starting from rest.

{ Initial velocity of the boy or the starting velocity of the boy i.e. u is 0 m/s }

The boy is starting from rest after time 4s it acquires the acceleration of 2 m/s².

Here, u = 0 m/s, t = 4 sec and a = 2 m/s².

Where, u = initial velocity, t = time and a = acceleration.

We have to find the displacement (s) of the body.

Using the Third Equation of Motion,

s = ut + 1/2 at²

Substitute the known values

→ s = 0(4) + 1/2 × 2 × (4)²

→ s = 0 + 1/2 × 2 × 16

→ s = 0 + 1 × 16

→ s = 16

Therefore,

Displacement of the boy is 16 m.

Answer:

Explanation:

STARTING FROM REST IMPLIES;

INITIAL VELOCITY,U = 0 M/S

TIME TAKEN,T = 4 SEC

ACCELERATION,A = 2 M/S²

ACCORDING TO NEWTON'S LAWS OF MOTION,

GIVEN DISPLACEMENT ;

S= UT +0.5AT²          [ S = DISPLACEMENT]

S = 0*4+0.5 *2*4*4

S = 0+16

S = 16 M.

DISPLACEMENT OF THE BODY = 16 M.

HOPE THIS HELPS.
