The book is primarily focus in contemporary studies on role modelling, values formation, historical and political development of Philippine nationalism as to the life, works and writings of Rizal. It emphasizes on critical analysis about the life, works and writings of Rizal for us to deeply appreciate and serve as model for an intellectual and patriotic endeavour on the development of the Filipino people. The heroism of Jose Rizal nurtures through role modelling and values formation to realize his dream that the Filipino people must love their own country. It is not only through patriotism that need to be realized in his vision but also development on ethical values of dignity, integrity, honour, honesty, humility and other noteworthy attitudes of the Filipino people. The book intends to give specific details on historical accounts of the life of Rizal so that it will not emphasized the traditional learning in memorizing important dates, events and places. It considered a liberal way of learning by critically analyzing his insights and experiences that someday this can be used a role model for our life. The academic discussions on the life works and writings of Rizal must come in an open mind by relating or comparing it to the contemporary time .There are important lessons that we can learn from the past particularly on moral ascendancy and ethic value among the Filipinos that kept on reminding us on self-sacrifice and self-worth. Most of the manuscripts presented in this book were on the works and writings of Rizal had provided detailed systemic complementation on his personal and political struggles against the Spanish abuses. 1. It provides information about his early life experiences particularly in memory of his village. An interesting part on here is the molding of his childhood particularly in the formation of dignity and respect to others; the inquiry on the mystery of life and deepening experiences on religion. Although these were properly molded in his early life experiences he encountered particularly on the abuses of the Spanish authorities and the friars which led him on deep grief of sadness and frustration that carried on in his life. 2. The brilliant scholastic triumph when he was in Ateneo and his important works about the Filipino youth including his political struggles on racial discriminations among the Indios. The life story of Rizal was not compete without knowing about a normal feeling of youth on his love, inspiration and infatuation “Miss K” and “Miss L”.
