Let dist of the foot of the ladder from the foot of the wall = d

11^2 = 3.9^2 + d^2

d^2 = 11^2 - 3.9^2=(11+3.9)(11-3.9)=14.9×7.1=105.79

d = √105.79 =10.29 Ans
