The bottom of a right cylindrical shaped vessel made from metallic sheet is closed by a cone shaped vessel as shown in the figure. The radius of the circular base of the cylinder and radius of the circular base of the cone are equal to 7cm.If the height of the cylinder is 20cm and height of the cone is 3cm calculate the cost of milk to fill completely this vessel at the rate of Rs 20 per litre

Answer:

Rs. 64.68

Step-by-step explanation:

The container is in the share of Cone standing on a cylinder.

The radius of cylinder and base of cone is same.

Data given is

Height of cylinder = 20 cm

Radius of cylinder = 7 cm

Height of Cone = 3 cm

Radius of Cone = 7 cm

V1 = Volume of cylinder = πr²h

R – Radius of cylinder and h – height of cylinder.

V1 = 22 * 7 * 7 * 20/7 = 3080 Cubic cm

V2 = Volume of the cone = πr²h/3

V2 = 22 * 7 * 7 * 3/(3 * 7) = 154 cuibc cm

Volume of milk = Volume of cylinder + Volume of cone = 3080 + 154 = 3234 Cubic cm.

1 cc = 1 ml.

Hence Volume of milk = 3.234 litre

Cost of milk = Rs. 20 / litre.

Total cost of milk = 3.234 * 20 = Rs. 64.68

Answer:

Rs 58.52

Step-by-step explanation:

The bottom of a right cylindrical shaped vessel made from metallic sheet is closed by a cone shaped vessel as shown in the figure. the radius of the circular base of the cylinder circular base of the cylinder and radius of the circular base of the cone are each is equal to 7cm. If the height of the cylinder is 20 cm and height of cone is 3cm. calculate the cost milk to fill completely this vessel at the rate of Rs 20 per litre

Volume of container = Volume of Cylinder - Volume of cone

as cone is immersed in cylinder (as shown in picture)

Volume of cylinder = π r² h

r = 7 cm  h = 20 cm  π  = 22/7

Volume of cylinder  = (22/7) (7)² (20) = 3080 cm³

Volume of cone = (1/3)π r² h

r = 7 cm  h = 3 cm  π  = 22/7

Volume of cone = (1/3)(22/7) (7)² (3) = 154 cm³

Volume of container = 3080 - 154 = 2926 cm³

1 litre = 1000 cm³

Capacity of container = 2926/1000 = 2.926 Litr

Cost Per Litre = Rs 20

Total Cost = 20 * 2.926 = Rs 58.52

cost of milk to fill completely this vessel  = Rs 58.52
