Snow is just water in solid states .what brings the difference is difference in heat by either absorption or release ,the point at which water boils is called the boiling point which is usually one hundred degrees  while the point at which water changes to snow is called the freezing point which is usually zero degrees for pure water .impurities may lower or raise the boiling points
