The narration would be as follows:

I was crying because I couldn't find a red rose. The girl I had asked out to the dance said she would go with me if I got her a red rose, while I was crying I saw a nightingale and a lizard run by and it almost seemed as if they were listening to me. The next day when I woke up I saw a beautiful red rose right under my window and was so elated that I plucked it and ran straight to the girl to ask her to the dance and that was when she told me she didn’t care for the rose and she has gotten beautiful gem stones from someone else, seeing how fickle she is I left and threw the rose. I felt so silly to be crying over a single rose.

The narration of the boy to his friend in the story 'The Nightingale and the Rose' can be as follows:

I was sobbing because I was unable to locate a red rose. I was crying when I saw a nightingale and a lizard go by, and it almost appeared as if they were paying attention to me because the girl I had asked to the dance had said she would go with me if I got her a red rose. The following morning when I woke up, I was so thrilled to see a gorgeous red rose right under my window that I plucked it and immediately ran to the girl to ask her to dance. However, when she informed me that she didn't care for the rose and had instead received beautiful gemstones from someone else, I realized how uncertain she is and left with the rose.
