One day, I was running in the forest to hunt something as I got bored at home. While looking for a prey to my entertainment, I found a duck in the nearby river. I, with a wrong aim, shot a bullet at it and it missed. Seems like ducklings got afraid, they surrounded the duck. This time, I was all ready to shoot at it with the right aim. I shot, when it’s almost going to penetrate into the duck, a boy came out of nowhere and saved it.
Thinking him to be its owner, leaving an angry glare at him, I left for home. There I saw my mother limping on a leg. I hurriedly went towards her and asked how it happened. She told me that she fell down when she was being back to home with a pot of drinking water and that someone had helped her in making her reach home, in dressing her wound. I asked her about him as I want to thank him for saving my mom. “ He went to bring some water for us from the nearby river. Might be coming. There he is!”, she said, pointing out the door.
I was startled to see the same boy who saved the duck there. I went towards him and thanked him for looking after my mom, in need. He said that it’s his duty to protect any living being in its misery, as he is a human. “You have your mom and those ducklings have that duck. It’s just that they can't express what they felt to make you understand the crime you were doing.” Saying so, he left taking blessings from my mom. For once, My mind pictured my mom in the place of that duck. That’s it! I stopped hunting. All thanks to the man who rescued the duck.
