AnswEr :

  • Ratio of Boys and Girl = 7 : 4
  • Total Strength of School = 5500

Let the Number of Boys be 7x and, Number of Girls be 4x. And Strength is 5500.

Let's Head to the Question Now :

⇒ Boys + Girls = Total Strength

⇒ 7x + 4x = 5500

⇒ 11x = 5500

  • Dividing both term by 11

x = 500

S P E C I F I C N U M B E R S :

◗ Boys = 7x = 7(500) = 3500

◗ Girls = 4x = 4(500) = 2000

Number of Boys is 3500 and, Number of Girls is 2000 in the School.

  • Ratio = 7 : 4
  • Strength = 5500

Check whether the Whole Number i.e. (Strength of School here) is Addition, Subtraction or Multiplication of Ratios.

Whatever it is in, Do the Same with Ratios (Addition, Subtraction or Multiplication)

Here Whole Number is talking about Strength of School (Addition of Boys and Girls in School)

Add Up the Ratios and Divide it by Strength. Then Multiply Outcome with Ratios.

↦ Addition of Ratio (7 + 4) = 11

↦ Divison by Outcome = 5500 /11 = 500

◗ Boys = Ratio × Outcome = 7 × 500 = 3500

◗ Girls = Ratio × Outcome = 4 × 500 = 2000

No. of Boys is 3500 and Girls is 2000.
