As per the data given in the above question.

The total number of students are 448,

The ratio is 9:5

We have to find the number of girls.

Let the ratio be as 9x and 5x,

The total sum of students are 448,

So,

9x+5x=448\\14x=448

Shifting constant to RHS we get,

x=\frac{448}{14}\\x=32

Therefore the numbers of boys and girls in ratio are as below,

Boys 9x=9\times 32=288

Girls 5x=5 \times 32=160

Hence the number of girls is 160.
