Im not 100perc sure But at a guess I would say that this has something to do with the Data Transfer speed of the device and the current connection. If the Data Transfer speed is down then when you get/make a Voice Call it stops the Data Transfer to free up bandwidth for the Voice Call, then when the Voice call is finished it continues the Data Transfer

Hey there ,
Nice question of yours.
But if I say the call comes up and internet data stops I say its nothing like that . The speed reduces of downloading and uploading but never get off . In some latest 4G LTE phones it was happening at the time when Airtel 4G was launched but now its not an issue. As you know Jio 4G works on same thing . By using its internet we are calling.

This problem occurs because calling and surfing internet requires everything different . Means what I am trying to say is that both are involved in data transferring . One is transferring voice and one is data for internet and for the Telecom Services first and foremost thing which is important to make a call first on mobile rather than internet . So when we are using internet or data connection and we attend the call it clears the traffic cause by internet to make out the maximum possible coverage and to get to range where the user is calling . Because if the call doesn't reach it matters much than internet reaches. As if both are on like voice call and internet no work will be able to do perfectly . So to provide with ease of calling and with clarity traffic needs to be cleared which is caused by data connection. So the data closes when we receive any call to provide a good experience of calling with maximum coverage area with good frequency .

Hope it helps!
