The brakes applied to a car produce negative acceleration of 10m/s2 .if the car takes 5s to stop after applying brakes calculate the distance covered by the car before coming to rest.

here is ur answer...
acceleration=-10m/s^2
time=5 sec
car has to come to rest so its final velocity is 0
we know that v=u +at
ATP,
0=u+(-10*5)
0= u-50
u=50

distance covered by car= ut+1/2 at^²

(50*10)+1/2*-10*(5)^2
500+(-5)*25
500-125
375
ans is 375m
