to find : time to stop

we will use the first equation of motion to solve this question.

v = u + at

where v is final velocity

u is initial velocity

a is the acceleration

t is time taken

According to the question, v = 0   u = 25m/s

acceleration can be found by F = m*a  

acceleration = 2500N/1000

                     = 2.5 metre per second square.

putting in the equation to find time

0=25-2.5(t)       [minus sign because its deacceleration]

-25 = -2.5(t)

t=10 seconds

HENCE, IT WILL TAKE 10 SECONDS TO STOP.
