Greetings..!

Let the length be x units.

Then,breadth = x - 3 units

then , area = L * B = (x)(x-3) units - x²-3x units

ATP,

length = x-3 units

breadth = x-3-3 units = x-6 units

then,area = x²-3x-176

So,the area should be equal to length*breadth=(x-3)(x-6)units=

x²-6x-3x+18=  x²-9x+18 units

As per question,

⇒x² - 9x + 18 = x² - 3x - 176

⇒x² - x² +18 = 9x-3x - 176 {transposing x² to LHS and 9x to RHS}

⇒18+176 = 6x

⇒194 = 6x {transposing 176 to LHS}

⇒194/6 = x {transposing 6 to LHS}

32.3 units = x = length

so, breadth = 32.3-3 = 29.3 units
