Answer:

let,the length of the rectangle be x And Breadth x-5. A/Q ,2(x+x-5) =30m 2(2x-5)=30. 2x-5 =30/2. 2x-5=15. 2x=15+5. 2x=20. x=20/2. therefore,x=10

Given :

  • The breadth of a rectangle is 5 less than its length. If the perimeter is 30 metre.

To Find :

  • Length of rectangle = ?
  • Breadth of rectangle = ?

Solution :

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 30 m

  • Let Length of rectangle be 'x' and Breadth of rectangle be 'x - 5'.

According to Question now :-

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

→ 30 = 2(x + x - 5)

→ 30 = 2(2x - 5)

→ 30 = 4x - 10

→ 30 + 10 = 4x

→ 40 = 4x

→ 4x = 40

→ x = 40 ÷ 4

→ x = 10 m

Hence,

  • Length of rectangle = x = 10 m
  • Breadth of rectangle = x - 5 = 10 - 5 = 5 m
