Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length+ breadth) [Formula]

Length = 20 cm ( given)

Perimeter = 36 cm ( given)

Substituting the values

2(10+b) = 36

10+b= 18 ( dividing by 2)

b= 18–10= 8

b= 8 cm

let length =x
breadth=x-5
perimeter =2(l+b)
2(x+x-5)=36
2x-5 =36/2
2x-5=18
2x=18+5
2x=23
x=23/2
x=11.5
length =11.5cm
breadth=x-5
=11.5 -5
=6.5cm
length =11.5cm,breadth=6.5cm is answer obtained
