let the length of the rectangle is '2a' .

so the breadth of rectangle is 'a'

perimeter = 140 cm

perimeter of rectangle = L × B

140 = 2a × a

140 = 2a^2

140/2 = a^2

70 = a^2

√70 = a

8.36 = a

breadth of rectangle = 8.36 cm
