The breadth of a rectangle is one third of its length and perimeter is 80 cm. find the length and area of the rectangle

Area of rectangle = Length * Breadth

Let length be = X

and breadth = 1/3x ( given )

Perimeter = 2 ( length + breadth ) = 80

2 ( x + 1/3 x) = 80

2 ( 3x + x / 3) = 80

2 ( 4x/3) = 80

4x/3 = 80/2

4x / 3 = 40

x = 40 * 3 / 4

x = 30

Length = x = 30 cm

Breadth = 1/3x = 1/3 * 30 = 10cm

Now area = length * breadth

30 * 10 = 300cm²
