the breadth of a rectangle is twice its length if the perimeter is 36 what is its area

perimeter = 2( l + b )
36. = 2 × (x + 2x)
18. = 3x
x = 6
area = 6 × 12
= 72

let length be l m
so,breadth =2l m
ATP,
2 (l+2l)=36
or,6l=36
or, l=36÷6
or, l=6
length =6m
breadth=12m
so,area=12×6 sq.m
=72 sq.m
