Answer :

  • Area of rectangular field is 108m²
  • Option (b)

Given :

  • The breadth of a rectangular field is 9m
  • Diagonal is 15m

To find :

  • Area of rectangular field

Solution :

First we need to find the length of rectangular field using the Pythagoras theorem

  • Let the length of rectangular field be l m

According to Pythagoras theorem know that,

  • (H)² = (B)² + (P)²

Where,

  • H is hypothenuse 15m
  • B is base 9m
  • P is perpendicular (l m)

》(Hypothenuse)² = (Base)² + (Perpendicular)²

》(15)² = (9)² + (l)²

》225 = 81 + l²

》l² = 225 - 81

》l² = 144

》l = √144

》l = 12m

Hence , Length of rectangular field is 12m

Now we have to find the area of rectangular field

As we know that,

  • Area of rectangular field = l × b

Where , l is length and b is breadth

》Area of rectangular field = l × b

》12 × 9

》108 m²

Hence, Area of rectangular field is 108m²
