The breadth of a rectangular garden is 2/3 of it's length if it's perimeter is 40 metre find it's length and breadth

let length(l) of garden be x metre

breadth(b) of garden = 2/3x metre

perimeter =40 metre

2(l+b)=40

2(x+2/3x)=40

5/3x=40/2

5/3x=20

x=20×3/5

x=12

length of garden is 12 metre

breadth of garden is 8 metre
