The breadth of a rectangular garden is 2/3 of its length. If its perimeter is 40 m. Find the area?

perimeter = 2(l + b)

let \: length \: be \: x \:

then \: breadth =  \frac{2}{3} x

40 = 2(x +  \frac{2}{3} x)

40 = 2x +  \frac{4}{3} x

40 =  \frac{6x + 4x}{3}

40 =  \frac{10x}{3}

x =  \frac{40 \times 3}{10}

x = 12

length = 12m, \: breadth = 8m

area = 12 \times 8 = 96m
