The breadth of a rectangular room is 2m less than its length. Of perimeter of room is 14 m. Find length and breadth of room

Let the length be x

Length of a rectangular room   =  x

Breadth of a rectangular room =  x - 2

Perimeter of rectangular room =  14m

         x + [x- 2] = 14

             2x - 2 = 14

                 2x  = 14 + 2

                  2x = 16

                    x = 16/2

                    x = 8

therefore, length = 8

              breadth = 6
