Given :-

  • The breadth of rectangle garden is 2/3 of its length, it perimeter is 40 cm

To find :-

  • Dimensions of rectangle

Solution :-

Let the length of rectangle is x then its breadth be 2x/3

  • Perimeter of rectangle = 40m

As we know that

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l + b)

Where " l " is length and " b " is breadth of rectangle

As per given condition

→ Perimeter of rectangle = 40m

→ 2(l + b) = 40

→ 2(x + 2x/3) = 40

→ x + 2x/3 = 40/2

→ 3x + 2x/3 = 20

→ 5x/3 = 20

→ 5x = 3 × 20

→ x = 3 × 20/5

→ x = 3 × 4

→ x = 12

Hence,

  • Dimensions of rectangle
  • Length of rectangle = x = 12m
  • Breadth of rectangle = 2x/3 = 2*12/3 = 8m

Given:

  • Breadth= 2/3 of Length
  • Perimeter = 40cm

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Need to Find :

  • Length=?
  • Breadth =?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution:

Let length= Y

then breadth= 2Y/3 (From the given information)

We know Perimeter of rectangle= 2×(length+ breadth)

⟹ Perimeter = 2 \times (y +  \dfrac{2y}{3} )

 \implies \: 40m \:  =  2 \times (\dfrac{3y + 2y}{3} )

 \implies \: 20m \:  =  \dfrac{5y}{3}

 \implies \: y =  \dfrac{20 \times 3}{5} m

 \implies \: y = 12m

  • \red{\bold{\therefore length=12m}}

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Breadth = 2y/3

⟹ Breadth = (2×12)/3m

⟹ Breadth =2×4m

⟹Breadth= 8m

  • \red{\bold{\therefore breadth=8m}}
