Let the length of the rectangle be x

Thus,breadth of the rectangle=1/3x-2

Perimeter=260m

2(l+b)=260

2(x+1/3x-2)=260

2x+2/3x-4=260

2x+2/3x=264

6x+2x/3=264

8x=792

x=792/8

x=99

Thus,length if the rectangle is 99m

Breadth=1/3×99-2=31m

Hence,area of the rectangle=l×b

99×31

3069m²

Thus,area of the rectangle is 3069m²
