Given,

  • The area of the rectangle = 4 m²
  • The length of the rectangle = 400 cm

To find,

  • We have to find the breadth of the rectangle.

Solution,

We can simply find the breadth of the rectangle by using the following formula for the area of the rectangle:

        Area of the rectangle = length * breadth      (*)

The area of the rectangle = 4 m²

The length of the rectangle = 400 cm

Length of the rectangle in m = 400 /100 = 4 m

Now, using (*), we get

                          4 = 4 * breadth

                     4/4  = breadth

                      1 m = breadth

∴ The breadth of the rectangle is 1m.

Hence, the breadth of the rectangle whose area is 4 sq.m and its length of 400 cm is 1 m.
