the breaking force of a wire is F. what will be the breaking force for(a),two parallel wires of the same size?(b).for a single wire of double the thickness?

a) as the wires are connected in parallel direction, the force exerted will be same on them. so in this case the breaking of wire = F

b) if the wire has double thickness, than the breaking of wire depends on the material of which it is made up of. so stress = restoring force/ area of cross section 

the breaking force will be doubled if the thickness is doubled

As the wire is connected in parallel direction the force exerted will be same on them.So in this case breaking of wire =F
