The breaks applied to a car produced an acceleration of 6 meter per second square in the opposite direction of the motion. If a car takes 2 second of stop after the application of break, calculate the distance it travels during this time.

Answer:

see acceleration is 6 but direction is opposite so it will be -6

time = 2 5

v = u - at

0 = u -6×2

u = 12m/s

now v^2 -u^2 = 2as

0 - 144 = 2×-6×s

s= 144/12

s= 12m
