Answer:

L = 12 m

B = 8 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of rectangular garden be (x) m

Let the breadth of rectangular garden be (2/3x) m

Perimeter = 40 m

A/Q

Perimeter of rec. garden = 2( l+b )

40 m = 2( x + 2/3x )

40/2 = 3x + 2x / 3

20 = 5x/3

20 × 3 /5 = x

12 = x or x = 12

Hence, length of rectangular garden = 12 m

and, breadth of rectangular garden = 2×12/3

= 8 m

Let,

lenght be x

breath be 2/3 of x

Perimeter =40 m

2(l+b)=40

2(x+2x/3)=40

2(3x/3+2x/3)=40

2(5x/3)=40

10x/3=40

x=40*3/10

x=4*3

x=12

Lenght=x=12

Breath =2/3 of x

=2/3 *12 (2*12/3)

= 8

Therefore, lenght is 12m and breath is 8m
