The breathing organ of a fish is known as gills. They are a type of tissues resembling short threads and is comprises protein structure that is known as filaments.

The fish exchanges gas through them and get oxygen to breathe after filtering through the filaments. The filaments transfer oxygen, water and carbon dioxide in and out of a fish. The gills are on both sides of the pharynx.
