The elements of Third period of Mendeleef’s modern periodic table called as ‘Bridge elements’. elements show the similarity in properties with that of elements present in both the subgroups of corresponding group i.e.; they behave like a bridge between both the subgroups. The bridge elements show greater similarity in properties with that sub group in which they are already present.
e.g;- ‘Na’ is the bridge element for group-‘I’ and ‘Mg’ is the bridge element for group-‘II
