The battle of Plassey was fought between the British lead by Robert clive and the Bengal Nawab Sirajudaulah.The Nawab lost the battle because of Mir Jafar one of the commanders never fought the battle because Robert clive promised him to be the nawab of Bengal after crushing Sirajudaulah.Mir Jafar became the nawab but soon after he rebeled.He was then removed by the British.Another nawab came but he too rebeled and then was defeated in the battle of Buxar.After that the emperor appointed the British as the Diwan of Bengal in which they could get the vast revenue collected by the ancient nawabs or kings.This helped solve a major problem in which they could use the money in doing many profitable trade....
