The British became successful in establishing rule India after the battle of plassey and buxar as Nawab Siraj-ud-daulah attacked British owned Calcutta. Mir Jafar who as the Commander-in- Chief of the Nawab 's mighty army, was bribed by General Robert Clive who had also promised him to appoint as the Nawab of Bengal.
