british conquered Indian land easily because there is very less unity among Indians . All Indians were busy in their own fights. That time they think that britishers are their friends and Indians are enemy . even they didn't realised that slowly the britishers were conquering the indian lands . even when the britishers were taking taxes from people on the land which was of indians only that time also no one realised the upcoming danger . everyone was giving tax but no one accused that why we are giving taxes. if that time indians had a unity among them then no britisher would think about to conquer our country.
