Although human life is transient and the flow of the brook is perpetual, both go on following their course without an end in sight. Both have to go through ups and downs, traverse through difficult bends in the road but the unifying thing is that they do not stop goingThe brook starts out from the dwelling place of birds and makes a sudden rush as it flows out. It continues its journey by flowing down a valley and then down along the hills. Sometimes, it also glides between long and narrow hill ranges called ridges. It passes through several thorpes which are small villages or hamlets and a large number of bridges. Its movement is leisured and rhythmical when it begins its course. Towards the end of its journey, the brook lingers by places where there is an accumulated mass of small pebbles deposited by the brook itself. The brook leaves the wilderness, shingly bars and watercress behind and flows in graceful curves towards the river.
