Because bulk rainfall is due to monsoon& it comes between July to September only. Answer: due to monsoon and it is characterised by seasonal reversal of winds just like land and the sea breezes operate in a coastal area

the monsoon begins from the first week of June and advances quite rapidly to cover arm of the world country by mid July. hence the bulk of rainfall in India is concentrated over the months of a few months mainly June to August
