Q - The C. G. of a wire bend forming a quarter drcular arc with radius of 100 mm is?

Given;-

r = 100 mm

To Find;-

Center of gravity of wire

Solution;-

We know that for a quarter circular arc the center of gravity is given by;-

x₀ = \frac{4R}{3\pi}

y₀ = \frac{4R}{3\pi}

where x₀ and y₀ are the coordinates of the center of gravity

∴ x₀ = \frac{4\times100}{3\pi} = 42.46mm ≈ 42.5mm

∴ y₀ = \frac{4\times100}{3\pi} = 42.46mm ≈ 42.5mm

Hence, the C.G of wire bend in form of a quarter circular arc =
(42.5 , 42.5)
