let the cp of one watch be rs. x
then cp of other watch is 840-x
%profit = profit/cp *100
profit = %profit *x/100
profit= 16x/100
%loss = loss/cp*100
loss = loss%*cp/100
loss = 12(840-x)/100
a/c question:
16x/100 = 12(840-x)/100
16x = 10080 -12x
28X = 10080
x = 360
hence cp of watches are rs. 360 and rs. 480
then cp of other watch is 840-x
%profit = profit/cp *100
profit = %profit *x/100
profit= 16x/100
%loss = loss/cp*100
loss = loss%*cp/100
loss = 12(840-x)/100
