Given : The campsite shop sells boxes of Funshine cereal. The base of each box is a 180mm x 60mm rectangle . Shelf Size id 65 cm * 35  cm

To find :  maximum number of boxes that will fit on the shelf

Solution :

The base of each box is a 180mm x 60mm rectangle.

10 mm = 1 cm

=>  base of each box is  18 cm  * 6 cm

Both sides are in multiple of  6

Shelf Size is 65 cm  * 35 cm

As Both sides are multiple of  6

Hence  We can cover Maximum only  60 cm * 30 cm  Size

Number of Boxes = 60 * 30 / (18 * 6)   =  50/3

= 16.67

Hence maximum possible Boxes are 16

See the attached figure for one possible arrangement

maximum number of boxes that will fit on the shelf = 16
