The volume of cylinder is

\pi {r}^{2} h = 15.4

 \frac{22}{7}  \times  {r}^{2}  \times 1 = 15.4

 {r}^{2}  =  \frac{107.8}{22}  = 4.9

r = 2.213

Total metal used is (Surface area of cylinder)

2\pi \: rh = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 2.213 \times 1

Metal Used = 13.91 sq. m ( 14 sq.m)
