0.9108  m² metal sheet would be needed to make it

Step-by-step explanation:

The capacity of a closed cylindrical vessel of height 2 m is 30.8 litres

Let say Radius of cylinder = r m

Then Volume of cylinder  = π r² h

= 2π r²   m³

1 m³ = 1000 litre

= 2000 π r²  litre

Volume of tank = Capacity

2000 π r² = 30.8

=> 2000 * (22/7)  * r² = 30.8

=> r² =  49/10000

=> r = 7/100 m

=> r = 0.07 m

Metal sheet Required = TSA  = 2πrh  + 2πr²

= 2(22/7)(0.07)*2  + 2(22/7)(0.07)²

= 0.88 + 0.0308

= 0.9108  m²
