Answer :

  • The breadth of the tank is 2m

Given :

  • The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 25,000 litres
  • Length and depth are 2.5m and 20m

To find :

  • Breadth of the tank

Solution :

Given

  • length of the tank = 2.5m
  • Height of the tank = 20m

  • Let the breadth of the tank be b

Given,

  • The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 25,000 litres so,

  • Volume of cuboid = 25,000

As we know that,

  • Volume of cuboid = l × b × h

Where,

  • L is length of the tank
  • b is breadth of the tank
  • h is height of the tank

→ Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height

→ 25000 m³ = 2.5 × b × 20

→ 25000 × 1/1000 m³ = 2.5 × b × 20

→ 25 m³ = 2.5 × b × 20

→ 25 = 50b

→ 50b = 25

→ b = 50/25

→ b = 2m

Hence , The breadth of the tank is 2m

More Explanation :

  • 1m³ = 1000 litres
  • 1/1000 m³ = 1 litre
  • 1 litre = 1/1000 m³
