Correct Question :

  • The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 50000 litres. The length and depth are 2.5m and 10m. its breadth in m is.

Given :

  • Volume of tank = 50000litres
  • Length of tank = 2.5m
  • Depth of tank = 10m

To Find :

  • Breadth of tank.

Solution :

Converting Capacity into metre :

  • 1litre = 0.001m³
  • 50000litre = 50000/1000
  • 50000litre = 50m³

Finding the Breadth of tank :

  • Length × Breadth × Height = Volume
  • 2.5 × Breadth × 10 = 50
  • 2.5 × 10 × Breadth = 50
  • 25 × Breadth = 50
  • Breadth = 50/25
  • Breadth = 2m

Verification :

  • Length × Breadth × Height = Volume
  • 2.5 × 2 × 10 = Volume
  • 2.5 × 20 = Volume
  • 50 = 50
  • Hence verified.

Therefore Depth of the tank is 2m.
