Answer :

The breadth of the cuboidal tank is 20m.

Step-by-step explanation :

Given that,

  • The capacity of a cuboidal tank is 80000 litres
  • Length = 4m
  • Depth ( Height ) = 10m

Therefore,

Let us assume breadth as b metres.

As, Capacity of the tank = 80000 litres, therefore,

Volume of cuboid = 80 m³ [ 1m³ = 1000 litres ]

As we know that,

Volume of cuboid = ( l × b × h )

Where,

  • l = Lenght
  • b = Breadth
  • h = Height

Therefore, breadth is,

80 = ( 4 × b × 10 )

80 = 40b

40b = 80

b = 80 / 4

b = 20

Hence, the breadth of the cuboidal tank is 20m.
