capacitance of a spherical capacitor C= 4 pi ∈ r

            here ,

              C= 1*10^-6

value of 1/ (4 pi ∈ )is=9 *10^9

            ( 1*10^-6 ) / 4 pi ∈    =   r

               ( 10^-6)  *  (9*10^9)=  r

                9 *10^3                 =  r

                 9000                    =  r

          diameter d=2*r

                              = 2* 9000

                            d  = 18000 m

Answer:

Explanation:

  • Spherical Conductor: A sphere shaped material through which current can flow is known as spherical conductor.
  • Capacity: Capacity means the ability of a material to store electric energy. It is calculated by capacitance of the material.

                   It is denoted by "C" and its unit is "farad" (F).

  • The capacitance of a spherical conductor is calculated by the following formula: C = 4π∈(0)R

        ∈(0) = dielectric constant in air = 8.854 x 10^{-12} C²/N-m²

        1/ 4π∈(0) = 9 x 10^{9} N-m²/C²

        R = radius of the spherical conductor.

  • Given, C = 1 micro farad = 1 × 10^{-6} F =  10^{-6} F

        From above formula, R = C/ 4π∈(0) = C x 1/4π∈(0)

                                                                   =   10^{-6} x 9 x 10^{9} m

                                                                   = 9 x 10³ m

  • Diameter of the conductor = 2R = 2 x 9 x 10³ m = 18x 10³ m .
