Hi ,

Here is your answer ,

Total capacity = 25 liters

Let the water used = X
Now , left water = x-5 litres

X+x-5 = 25 litres
2x = 25+5 liters
2 x = 30 litres
X = 30/2
X = 15 litres

Used water = 15 litres

<b>Answer :

Capacity of water container = 25 liters

Let the water used = a liters

Water left = 5 less than the water used

=> a - 5

So, your equation becomes =>

 = > a + a - 5 = 25 \\ \\ = > 2a - 5 = 25 \\ \\ = > 2a = 25 + 5 \\ \\ = > 2a = 30 \\ \\ = > a = \frac{30}{2} \\ \\ = > a = 15

\underline\textbf{Hence, the required answer is 15 liters !}

Thanks !
