Step-by-step explanation:

avg age of wk and cap

26+29/2=27.5

26.5 is avg age of whole team

then 26.5+27.5/2=54/2=27

the avg age of whole team is 27

Answer:

23

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a question on mean

the number of members=11

the captain of the team is 26 while the wicket keeper is 3 years older(26+3)=29

therefore average of team=(26+29+9 other people)/11

therefore,

lets call other people,'x'

therefore,average of team= (26+29+9x)/11

the average without captain and wicket keeper is (9 other people/9)=(9x/9)

it is said that the average without captain and wicket keeper is one less than the average of team, therefore  the average without captain and wicket keeper = than the average of team -1

((26+29+9x)/11)-1=(9x/9)

this gives you 22

x=22

substitute it in "the average of the team" equation

(26+29+(9*22))/11

this gives you 23
