✠Given :-

  • Car starts from rest
  • Acceleration of the body is 10m/s²
  • Time taken of the body is 2 seconds

i.e ,

  • u = 0 [initial velocity]
  • a = 10m/s²
  • t = 2 seconds

✠To find :-

  • Distance covered by the body

✠Solution :-

We can find the distance covered by the body in various methods

✠Method - 1:-

By using the equations of motion ,

s = ut +1/2 at²

  • s = distance covered
  • u = initial velocity
  • a =  acceleration
  • t = time taken

Substituting the values ,

s = ut +1/2 at²

s = (0)(2) +1/2 (10)(2)²

s = 0 +1/2 10(4)

s = 1/2 (40)

s = 40/2

s = 20m

So, the distance covered is 20m

✠Method -2 :-

We also have some formulae to calculate distance covered

✠v² - u²/2a =s

  • u = initial velocity
  • a = acceleration
  • s = distance covered

But , Here we dont know the final velocity (v) Firstly we calculate final  velocity then we calculate distance covered by using this formula v² - u²/2a = s

We have formulae to calculate final velocity that is

✠v = u+at

Substituting the values

v = (0) +(10)(2)

v = 0+20

v = 20m/s

So, final velocity is 20m/s

✠Distance covered (s) = v² - u²/2a

s  = (20)²- (0)²/2(10)

s = 400-0/20

s= 400/20

s = 20 m

So,  the distance covered is 20m
