Carbon cycle maintains the balance of nature by continually removing the carbon through producers and marine organisms such as corals and molluscs and by producing it again through processes like respiration, combustion, decay and volcanic eruptions.
If the excess of carbon in the form of carbon dioxide is not removed, it will cause greenhouse effect that will ultimately lead to global warming. In the scarcity of carbon dioxide, photosynthesis cannot take place on which all living beings depend for food. In this way, the carbon cycle is an important nutrient-cycling process responsible for keeping the balance of nature.
